Mō te tūnga | About the role 

We are seeking a Kaiārahi Reo | Reo Advisor to provide expert support in te reo Māori quality assurance, translation, subtitling, and reo/tikanga initiatives across Whakaata Māori. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our content is linguistically accurate, culturally grounded, and aligned with our organisational reo standards. 

This is a 12-month fixed-term full-time position, based at our head office in East Tāmaki. 

 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities 

  • Deliver high-quality translation and subtitling across platforms 

  • Develop and implement te reo Māori quality assurance standards 

  • Provide reo guidance to teams across the organisation 

  • Collaborate with content teams to ensure accurate, authentic reo use 

  • Support internal and external reo and tikanga initiatives 

  • Monitor, proof, review and maintain linguistic accuracy in content 

  • Contribute to organisational development and cultural uplift 

 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | What you’ll bring 

  • Strong foundation in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Te Reo Māori (essential) 

  • 3+ years experience in translation, interpretation, or similar work 

  • Experience delivering accurate translations under tight deadlines 

  • High-level relationship management and communication skills 

  • Ability to develop guidelines, templates, and training for reo standards 

  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and time management
